On November 30, 2017 Byron Greenfield of Canaan, New York passed away at his home. He was surrounded by his wife and three children.

Byron Greenfield leaves behind the love of his life, Ingrid Greenfield, his wife, his son, Brian Greenfield and his two daughters, Lisa Avildsen and her husband Christopher and Susan and her husband Anthony Pupo. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Tyler Greenfield, Kelsey Greenfield, Isabelle Avildsen and Zachary Pupo. 

Byron was a world traveler, lover of tennis, dancing and life. Byron first came to Canaan as a child, and fell in love with its country side.  In the late 90’s , after retiring as a real estate executive in New York City, he and his wife Ingrid made their Canaan retreat home. Byron and Ingrid created not just a beautiful house surrounded by natural beauty, but a sanctuary where the family could gather and created countless memories together. Byron shared his love for nature by contributing a large portion of this property to the Columbia County Land Conservancy.

Services will be private for the family. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family is asking that donations be made to the Creutsfeldt Jakob Foundation which is doing research on the incurable disease that took Byron from this world.
