LANESBORO- Dorothy “Dot” (Jones) Keeler, 96, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Mount Greylock Extended Care surrounded by her loving family.

Dot was born September 13, 1921 in Hancock, MA the eldest daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Sweet) Jones.  She graduated from Lebanon Valley High School, and then went on to begin working as a waitress at the former Cup and Saucer restaurant on the Turnpike. She later went on to work as a school bus driver for 15 years until her retirement.

Dot was a strong and hard working woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She and her husband were well known as antique dealers in the area, and they loved to go flea-marketing together. Dot also loved to spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of the Berkshire Benevolent Association for the Blind, an organization that helped the Keeler family tremendously over the years.

Dorothy married her husband, the late Warren L. “Fuzz” Keeler Sr. in Vermont on October 1, 1941. They spent 53 wonderful years of marriage together before his passing on September 17, 1995.

Dot is survived by three children, Warren Keeler Jr. of Lanesboro, Beverly Silvernail of Pittsfield, and Carol Keeler of Pittsfield, her step-daughter, Barbara Roche of Pittsfield, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 siblings, Ruth Lampenfeld, Margaret Bouchillon, Mary Rathbun and Steve Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Dot was predeceased by her unforgettable and beloved daughter, Joan Wilbur, her son-in-law, Richard “Dick” Wilbur, two step-sons, Paul and Bross Keeler, a sister, Texana Sherar, and four brothers, Walter, Robert, David and Raymond Jones. 

The Keeler family wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude to the magnificent staff at Mount Greylock Extended Care- they have been nothing but supportive to not only their mom, but also to them over the last two and a half years.

SERVICES: Keeler, Dorothy “Dot”, age 96, died January 22nd. Calling Hours for Dot will be Thursday, January 25th from 5-7PM at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Services will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dot’s memory may be made to: Berkshire Benevolent Association for the Blind, in care of the Funeral Home.
