June 25, 1937 ~ November 5, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Mr. Frank Mole Jr., age 80, of 48 Norwich Dr. Dalton, MA died Sunday, November 5th at the Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness.

Frank was born in Pittsfield on June 25, 1937, the son of the late Frank Mole Sr. and Rose M. Sinopoli Penna. He was educated in the local schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Frank was a lifelong Union dry wall installer and painter, and he retired in 1998 from the former Sedgewick and Novak Co.

A 6 year veteran of the National Guard, Frank was an avid hunter, particularly on West Mountain. He also loved fishing, both fresh water and ice fishing. He was devoted to his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he loved to seed, develop and work his garden.

Frank and his wife of 54 years, the former Leanora Sayers, were married Feb. 2, 1963.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his two daughters, Theresa Sprague of Pittsfield and Deborah Lewis and her husband, Ray, of Dalton, his three brothers, Charles Mole of Pittsfield, Robert Mole of Miami, FL and Joseph Penna of Homestead, FL, and his sister Rosemarie Thornton of GA. He so enjoyed his role as “Pop” to his 7 grandchildren, Austin and Jared Sprague and Alivia Palmer, Nicholas Lewis, Jacob Haynes, Mitchell and Samantha Lewis, and to his 8  great-grandchildren, Isabella Wimpenny, Anna Passarelli, Cameron Lewis, Brooklynn Lewis, Kileigh Sinopoli, Gabriel Sinopoli, and Mason, Mollie and Cole Lewis. Frank was predeceased by his sister Mary Letourneau and his brother Anthony Mole.

A private Gathering and Celebration has been held honoring Frank’s life and accomplishments. Per his request, Frank will be returned to some of his favorite areas throughout his beloved Berkshires. The Devanny-Condron Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Frank’s memory may be made to The Berkshire Dream Center, in care of the Funeral Home.
