Jack B Hassan, of Lanesboro, died Sat. Oct. 7th at the Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, Oct. 4, 1943, he was the son of the late Bernie and Eugenie DiCarlo Hassan. Educated in the local schools, he was employed in the construction industry all of his adult life. For the past many years, he had been employed by D. Condron Construction Co. as a tri axle truck operator, driving his beloved Truck # 16. He “ retired “ at age 70, but not really. He then devoted his time to the 10 acre farm where he cut and sold fire wood. An avid fisherman and hunter, he loved his dogs, “ Bailey “ and his most recent, his Dachshund, “ Phred” as well as his ‘ dearest of friends and favorite libation’, “ Genesee”.
He is survived by his wife the former Linda Williamson, with whom he has celebrated their live together for the past 28 years. He is also survived by his son Jack Hassan and his wife, Maureen of Pittsfield, his 3 daughters, Laurel Mons and her husband, Mark, of Tucson, Az., Jackie Peaslee Saco of Pittsfield, Jerrie Peaslee of Albany,N.Y., his two brothers, Ken E. Hassan and his wife Barbara Davis Hassan of Lanesboro, Jerry Hassan of Pownal, Vt.,2 sisters, Eugenie Richardson of Lanesboro and Linda Lander and her husband, Bill of Pittsfield, 4 step-children,. Heather Morey of Pittsfield, Kristine Nicholls of Pownal, Vt., Jason Barnes of Pittsfield and Kellie Hague of Sterling, Ct., and 2 grandsons, Ian Sacco and Connor Hassan, both of Pittsfield, his father-in-law, Wesley Williamson of Cheshire and several nieces and nephews. His other brother, Bernie Hassan pre deceased him.
Hassan, Jack B., age 74, of Lanesboro, died Sat. Oct. 7th. Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be THURSDAY, Oct. 12th from 4 to 7 with the funeral services beginning at 6:30 pm with the Rev. William Furey, pastor of the Berkshire Chapel, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lanesboro Fire and Ambulance Depts. in care of the funeral home.
