June (Gaylord) Callahan

June Gaylord Callahan, formerly of 245 Cheshire Rd #18, Pittsfield, MA, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024. Born in Pittsfield on June 16, 1931, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bert and Nettie (Greb) Gaylord.

June was a proud graduate of Pittsfield High School, where she cultivated friendships and a passion for learning that would shape her life. Continuing her education, she earned a degree as a dental assistant, a profession she pursued with dedication and skill. She began her career working alongside Dr. Auge before transitioning to the Molari Agency, where she provided invaluable healthcare services to the central Berkshires community.

Devoted to her faith, June was an active member of Berkshire Union Chapel, where her kindness and compassion touched many lives. Beyond her professional and religious endeavors, June was cherished for her role as a homemaker and mother. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family; she found joy in tending to her garden and in caring for both infants and the elderly.

June’s philanthropic nature knew no bounds. She dedicated her time and efforts to various charitable works, embodying a spirit of generosity and empathy that inspired those around her.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Callahan, and her first husband and father of her children, Raymond Martin, who passed in 2010. She is also mourned by her two late sons, Keith Martin (1998) and Curt Martin (January 27, 2015).

She is survived by her son, Scott R. Martin, and five grandchildren, who will continue to cherish her memory and legacy of love.

A funeral service led by Pastor William “Bill” Furey to celebrate June's life will be held at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home on Friday, February 23, 2024 beginning at 11AM. A private interment will be held at the Pittsfield Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions are suggested to the "Berkshire Union Chapel" in June’s memory, honoring her dedication to faith and service.
