North Adams - Kevin D. Morrison passed away on Friday, December 29th after a long battle with lung cancer.  He was the son of William J. Morrison and Mary B. (O’Brien) Morrison.  Kevin was raised in Pittsfield and attended local schools, graduating from St. Joseph Central Catholic High School in 1972.  In 1973, Morrison enlisted in the US Coast Guard; he served on the USCGC Bibb and the Unimac.  He was honorably discharged in 1978.

After his years of service, he returned to Pittsfield. Kevin worked at the former GE Store, and attended Berkshire Community College.  He then relocated to the North Shore and pursued various jobs.  He returned to the Berkshires in the early 1990’s and became a certified nursing assistant at North Adams Commons.  Later, Kevin worked a garden shop associate at Walmart, retiring due to medical issues.

In his spare time, Mr. Morrison enjoyed following the Bruins, the NY Mets, and the New Orleans Saints.  He was also an avid reader. Several years ago, Mr. Morrison traveled to Ireland, which had been a longtime dream.

Morrison is survived by his siblings- William E. Morrison and his wife Patricia, Seamus Morrison, Brian Morrison and his wife Liz Recko, Molly Lesniak and her husband Jim, and Irene Morrison.  He is also leaves nieces and nephews William Sean Morrison and his wife Misty and their children Mallory and Joey, Abby Nguyen and her husband John Paul and their children Darren and Margot, Michael Lesniak and his wife Samantha and their son Crosby, Brianne Morrison, Seamus Morrison and his partner Sasha Feliciano and their daughter Siena, Patrick Morrison, Christian Barnes and her children Wesley and Victoria, as well as Sean and Liam Morrison.

SERVICES: Calling Hours for Kevin will be Thursday, January 4th from 3-5pm at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Burial will be Friday, January 5th at 9am at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the Funeral Home.
