Allan P. Roberts

Sgt. Allan P.  Roberts, Sr., age 70 of Plainfield, MA passed away December 5, 2020 at the Hillcrest Commons after a long illness.

Born Aug. 28,1950, in North Adams, he was the son of the late Louis T. and Jean E. Moon Roberts. Educated in the local schools, Allan was awarded his GED while in the service. He was employed as a machinist initially at Pittsfield Mold & Tool, Arnold Print Works, and then later for the Yankee Atomic plant as well as the Williamsburg and Savoy Councils on Aging. Most recently, he loved his time tending to the Plainfield Transfer Station. 

A 38 year member of the U.S. Army National Guard, Allan was also a 22 year member of the American Legion and 20 year member of the Lions Club. He also served as a member of the Grange in Plainfield, and both the Mass. and National Granges, as well as serving on the Ways & Means Committees for the Mass. Grange.

He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, the former Cindy Lou Tatro, whom he married July 11, 1978, his sons, Allan Junior of Stephentown, NY, Christopher of Pittsfield, his daughters, Andrea of Adams, Desiree of Iowa, daughter-in-law, Kelly Roberts of Plainfield, and six grandchildren, Dakota, Jaxson, Sebastian, Ruby, Teagan, and Scarlet. He also leaves 3 brothers, Paul, Bruce, and Harry, 2 sisters, Marcia Perras and Lorrie Strysko, 20 nieces and nephews and 33 great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Edward and Thomas Roberts.

Funeral services will be held in the Spring.
