Angela Bowerman

August 7, 1929 ~ August 5, 2022 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Tribute

Angela Bowerman died peacefully on August 5, 2022 just two days before her 93rd birthday. Angela was born in Pittsfield on August 7, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Ottavio and Lucia (Lora) Conte.

Angie grew up in her beloved Lakewood neighborhood and graduated from Pittsfield High School. After graduation she went to work for the General Electric Company as a Secretary.

Angela married Lawrence Bowerman in September of 1953. They enjoyed love and laughter together for fifty three years before his passing in 2006.  Angela was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  The family enjoyed many excellent meals together in her home, as she was a wonderful cook and her home was always an inviting place to be. She loved gathering with her sisters’, and brother’s families to celebrate life. She cherished being a Noni and enjoying her grandchildren. She and Larry spent many nights dancing at the Italian American Club and she loved the music of the Big Band era.

Angela loved people and her wonderful flower gardens. She enjoyed working in Pittsfield City Hall in the City Clerk’s Office where she diligently served the citizens of Berkshire County and made many lifelong friends for over 20 years. She was past president of the Union. After her retirement on August 9, 1991, she volunteered for Pittsfield Beautiful and the Humane Society. Also in her retirement, Angie fulfilled her lifelong dream to travel to Italy, a trip she made with many of her Lakewood friends.

Angela was a Berkshire girl to her very core. She was a communicant of the former All Souls Church and Sacred Heart church and was proud to have only lived in two houses in her entire life- on Elm St. and on East St.

Angela was predeceased by her beloved brother and his wife Silvio and Corrine Conte, her beloved sisters and their husbands Sylvia and Don Reid and Joe and Elizabeth (Betty) Baldessarini. She is survived by her sister in law Majorie Murray, her son, David Bowerman and his wife Janice, granddaughter Lindsay, her daughter, Lauren Bowerman and her husband Barry Comeau and grandsons Phillip and Drew.  She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sugar Hill for the kind care they gave to Angie over her last few years.
