Ann C (McLaughlin) Jadatz

October 28, 1934 ~ July 1, 2019 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Ann C. Jadatz, 84, of Dalton, MA died peacefully on July 1, 2019 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her family. She had been a resident of Melbourne Assisted Living for the past two and a half years.

Born in Pittsfield on October 28, 1934, Ann was the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Marguerite Butler McLaughlin. Ann graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1952 and from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked at the former St. Luke’s Hospital, Berkshire Medical Center and several nursing homes in Pittsfield and Lee for many years.

On February 1, 1971, she married Edward P. Jadatz, Jr. and moved to Dalton. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society for many years. She also volunteered at the school while her children attended.

Ann especially enjoyed vacationing with her family in Maine. Besides her family, Ann’s greatest joy was the lifelong friendships she formed with her nursing school classmates. Ann was fortunate to have wonderful neighbors as well, and her family would like to thank Walter Gehring and Sue and David Beaudoin for all their help.

Ann is survived by her three children, Steve Jadatz (Nancy) of Shacklefords, VA, John K. Jadatz of Van Nuys, CA and Mary Dujmich (Louis) and grandchildren Daniel and Melanie of Staten Island, NY. Additionally, she leaves her sisters, Christina Rose of Amherst, MA and Marie Trapani (Mario) of Pittsfield, her brothers, Michael (Debbie Fields) and Daniel McLaughlin of Pittsfield and Timothy McLaughlin of Quincy, MA,  as well as many nieces and nephews. Her youngest brother, David, predeceased her in 2016.

Not a day went by that Ann didn’t ask about her grandchildren’s lives. She was so proud and supportive of all their accomplishments, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Ann’s family would like to thank and acknowledge her helpers present and past: DonnaMarie, Sally, Cecylia, Pat and Missy who provided loving care over the last few years, as well as her dear friends Judy, Micky, Mary M. and Mary S. for all the kindness, help and support. The family would also like to thank the entire staff of Melbourne and the nurses and doctors at BMC, especially Dr. Caine and Dr. Ringler for the care they provided Ann.
