Barbara a Andrews

Mrs . Barbara A. Foggan Andrews, age 90, of Pittsfield, died Sunday morning, March 17th  from cancer. She was born in Lowell,Ma.,  the daughter of the late Norman and Agnes Blanche Mills Foggan. She attended the local schools there and in New York. Barbara moved to the Berkshires at age 19 and initially was employed as a Day Care provider. Returning to school, she obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant degree. She was employed as a CNA here and in Willimantic, CT where she resided for over 40 years.

While living in Willimantic, she was a very active volunteer with the VFW Womens’  Auxiliary as well as Unit 19 of the American Legion Womens’  Auxiliary. Devoted to volunteering and supporting many veterans’ efforts, Barbara was a kind and generous soul who touched all who knew her. She was always willing to help someone else and taught that to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her husband of 51 years, Raymond Andrews Sr. died Feb. 11, 2018. Her first husband Chet Boyd, predeceased her.

The mother of seven children, 3 boys and 4 girls,  she is survived by her daughters, Bonnie A. Demary of Pittsfield, Linda Villanueva of Pittsfield, Cheryl A. Shoemaker of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Sandra J. Andrews of Pittsfield, her son, Raymond Andrews. Jr. of Pittsfield, many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  Her sons, Kenneth Armstrong Boyd and John Chester Boyd, predeceased her.

Funeral services and interment were private.
