Barbara Rose (Porter) Lussier

Mrs. Barbara Rose (Porter) Lussier, 92, a longtime resident of Pittsfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center.

Born in Pittsfield on June 19, 1932, Barbara was the daughter of the late Charles and Emelie (Choiniere) Porter. She was a Girl Scout, Boy Scout Den Mother, graduate of St. Joseph Catholic Central High School, and proud to be one of the first "Polaris Girls" at GE Ordinance as a stenotypist in the Inventory Control Section before dedicating her life to raising her family. Barbara was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, and devoted wife. She was a communicant of St. Charles Church. 

Barbara showed great interest in reading, decorating her home, watching QVC, and going on her “young" walks to keep in good health.

Barbara married Richard G. Lussier on September 12, 1953 at Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield. They were married 32 years before Barbara lost her loving husband; she has missed him dearly ever since.

Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael Lussier (Sandra), Brian Lussier (Teresa), and David Lussier (Kelly), all of Dalton, and Diana Sullivan (Thomas) of Pittsfield. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Heather, Joshua, Jason, Megan, Shannon, Whitney, Bridget, Emma, Zachary and Jennifer, her great grandchildren, Hallie, Lucas, Amber, Parker, Madison and Morgan, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara also leaves her special family friends Donald "Butch" and Judy Lussier who she appreciated their companionship and looked forward to their Saturday night ice cream outings for years.

In addition to her husband, Barbara was predeceased by her brother and his wife, Charles Wayne and Mary Porter.

SERVICES: Friends are invited to join the family on MONDAY, March 3, 2025 from 8:30-9:30 am at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home in Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at St. Charles Church beginning at 10 am followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to UCP of Western Massachusetts in care of Devanny-Condron Funeral Home.
