Beverly J. (Besanceney) Soules

Beverly J. (Besanceney) Soules, age 59, of Pittsfield died Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.

Bev was born in Great Barrington on October 18, 1960, a daughter of Morris Besanceney and Janice Rose (Gordnier) Crine. She was educated in the local schools in Great Barrington and later worked as a bookkeeper for the different businesses in her family.

She was a proud mom and grandmother, a beloved daughter and sister and was simply kind to everyone she knew.

Beverly adored dolphins and the ocean. She loved spending her summers camping in Lake George and going shopping, and she enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Beverly is survived by her five children, Alan Decker (Heather) of Great Barrington, Jessica Lyn Hammer (Tyler) of Ashley Falls, Daniel M. Decker (Jayme) of Scotland, CT, and Crystal Lynn Hankey (Mathieu) and Krista Lynn Vancour, both of Sheffield, and 16 grandchildren, whom she adored. She also leaves her partner of 16 years, John Culpo of Pittsfield, and her step daughters, Destiny Culpo and Amanda, Cassie and Kim Soules. Additionally, Bev is survived by her siblings, Phyllis Besanceney of Pittsfield, Michael (Jennifer) Besanceney of Becket, and Roger Besanceney and Jennifer Crine, both of Great Barrington, and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the family for a Memorial Funeral Service on SATURDAY, February 22nd at 9am at the First Congregational Church, 251 Main St. Great Barrington, MA. Per Bev’s wishes, immediately following the service, there will be a Celebration of Her Life from 11am-3pm at the Tavern at the A, 303 Crane Ave. Pittsfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201 to assist with funeral expenses.
