Bree Caan, age 34, of Pittsfield died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Christiansburg, VA.
Bree was born in Saratoga Springs, NY on January 13, 1985 a daughter of Ronald King and Brenda Lewis Caan. Following high school, she later went on to take classes at the Adult Learning Center.
Bree loved all kinds of music and was a talented dancer. She was also an artist, and had a passion for drawing. She inspired those around her to keep in touch with their creative side, and motivated her family and friends to be the best version of themselves. Bree was fearless, she was a fighter, and she was motivated. She had the most beautiful smile and lit up a room when she was around. She also was someone who loved everyone, yet was also the first tell you like it was. Bree was the most accepting person you had ever met, she would stick up for “the underdog,” and she was passionate about teaching her children right from wrong.
Bree was very proud of her Native American heritage, and her family has roots tying back to the Navajo and Hopi tribes. She embraced the teachings of her family, and passed those traditions on to her kids. Her children were her everything. Her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mom to her four babies, and they meant the absolute world to her.
Bree is survived by her mother, Brenda A. Lewis Caan of Pittsfield, her father, Ronald King of Saratoga, NY, her four children, Dasan, Aiyana and Tehya Young and Natanni Caan, and her siblings, Malik and Missy King, Fredina, Collette and Aquana Davis, all of Pittsfield, and Shilo York. She also leaves her best friend and soulmate, Jason Allain, her nieces and nephews, Monique, Melina, Nathaniel, Ryanne, Felee, Julius, Joel, Judas, Cecilia, Lillianna, Maizey and Kailanie, and many other extended friends and family members in Arizona and New York to include her aunts, uncles and cousins.
SERVICES: Calling Hours for Bree will be MONDAY, January 28th from 1-2PM at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with a Funeral Home Service to begin at 2PM. Burial will follow at Pittsfield Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bree’s memory be made directly to the funeral home to help defray funeral costs.
