1936 ~ 2021 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Carolyn peacefully passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at age 84 at Berkshire Medical Center. She is the daughter of the late Ernest and Phyllis Marchisio. Carolyn graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1954. Her husband of 58 years, Walter Miller, died December 10, 2018. They were married May 7, 1960 in the former Mt. Carmel Church.
She was employed as a secretary with the former General Electric Ordnance Systems retiring in 1998 from General Dynamics with 25 years of service. Following her retirement, Carolyn enjoyed volunteering at the Barrington Stage Company and the Colonial Theatre for many years. She and Walt enjoyed traveling the country together and spending winters in Aruba and in Bradenton, FL. They were members of the Italian American Club where they enjoyed connecting with their longtime friends.
Carolyn's greatest passion was being a caring wife to her husband, Walt. Carolyn was the best friend to all her daughters and always willing to lend a hand to them for many years as they brought up their children. She was so proud of all her grandchildren and she very much enjoyed attending their sporting and theatre events. She devoted her time towards her daughters, son-in laws, and grandchildren. They still reminisce about her hosting the special times in her home especially during the holidays and summer pool parties.
She is survived by her three daughters, Donna Kasala and her husband James, Sue Ramsdell and her husband Kevin, and Karen Nicholson and her husband Lance. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Shane, Ryan, and Shauna Kasala; Amanda Butkiewicz and her husband Matthew, and Allison Ramsdell; Rebecca and Rachel Nicholson as well as her two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Emmaline Butkiewicz and her sister, Margaret Robertson and her brother Lawrence Marchisio. Another sister, Diane Vallone, predeceased her.
The family wishes to acknowledge the caring staff at Wingate Residences at Melbourne, Hospice of Western and Central MA, and BMC's 4th floor nursing staff. These dedicated individuals offered tremendous support to Carolyn through her most difficult days. A special thank you to Cara, Marie, and Julie for their exceptional care of Carolyn, as well as providing guidance to her daughters.
