Tribute

Mr. Clifford A. LaPointe, 86, of 485 Wahconah St., Pittsfield, died peacefully Thursday evening, January 13th at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by family.
Born in Pittsfield, October 11, 1935, he was the son of the late Clifford M. and Hilda LaPointe. A 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School, Cliff was employed for 35 years as a manager at the former Kelly Hardwood Co., continuing his career as an independent buyer for General Woods and Veneer and later as a carpenter for Souliere & Zepka Construction Co. in Adams, MA.
He was a longtime communicant of St. Agnes Church and was an avid fan of both the Red Sox and the Patriots. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, harness and flat track racing, and casino gambling. Cliff loved taking long rides with his wife exploring back roads. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren asking endless questions. He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, the former Doris Butterworth. They were married January 21, 1956, in St. Charles Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Michael LaPointe and his wife, Tammy of Richmond, Sandra Lussier and her husband, Michael of Dalton, Susan Tooley and her husband, Scott, of Pittsfield, and Richard LaPointe and his wife, Melissa, of Pittsfield. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Heather, Kayla, Jamie, Jason, Danielle, Gabrielle, and Amber and 4 great-grandchildren, Hailie, Holly, Alexis, and Mya. Cliff was predeceased by his siblings, Gerald D. LaPointe and Mary Louise Dalzell.
A Memorial Service will be held this THURSDAY, January 20th at 11 AM at ST. AGNES CHURCH in Dalton with Deacon George Morrell, officiating. There are no calling hours and burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made payable to either "St. Agnes Church" or to "St. Jude Children's Hospital", and mailed to the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME which has been entrusted with his care.
