Dana A. Becker, 72 of Dalton, MA, died Monday, January 31, 2022.

Born in Pittsfield, MA on May 12, 1949, he was the son of Ralph and Emma Wilbur Becker.  He attended local schools in Dalton and was a 1967 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.  Dana began his employment history at Crane & Co., and held most positions with regard to manufacturing.  He was promoted to Human Resources and became the hiring manager for all hourly workers.  Dana retired from the Human Resources Department of Crane & Co. with a combined total of 37 years of service.

Dana proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era.  Prior to his illness, he was an avid walker and loved to watch all sports including football, hockey, golf tournaments and was a huge Red Sox fan.  Most of all, he enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends. 

Dana and his wife, the former Patricia A. Moyer, were married February 12, 1982.

In addition to his wife, Dana is survived by his daughter Kristyn and her husband, Brian, and their two children, Abigail and Jordan of Dalton, MA; his son Patrick and his wife, Lori, and their three children, Noah, Carter and Alexa of Dalton, MA, and his brother in law, Charles Lawson of Martinsburg, West Virginia.  Dana’s parents and sister, Donna Lawson, preceded him in death.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Craneville Place for their kindness and dedication over the years.

A Celebration of Life honoring Dana will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in his honor may be made payable to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” or to the “Activities Department at Craneville Place of Dalton, MA” and mailed to DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME at 40 Maplewood Avenue, Pittsfield, MA  01201, who has been entrusted with arrangements.
