David C Cafarelli

PITTSFIELD- David C. Cafarelli, age 73, died Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Berkshire Medical Center.

David was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 23, 1944 a son of the late Eleanor J. (Craig) and Nicholas J. Cafarelli Jr. He was a 1962 graduate of Billerica High School, and then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from UMass Amherst in 1966. He later continued on to pursue his Law Degree, and graduated from New England School of Law in 1971. David ran his own law office located at 85 East St. in Pittsfield for over 40 years, and proudly served as the President of the Berkshire County Bar Advocates, Inc.

In David’s younger years, he loved to play rugby, and later he enjoyed watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sports games. He was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Patriots and Celtics. David was a jokester, and had a deep, infectious laugh that will be missed by many. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church, and his family and faith were his top priorities.

David married his wife of 33 years, the former Bonnie J. Quail, at St. Helena's Episcopal Chapel on July 9, 1984.

Besides his beloved wife, David leaves his children and step-children, Michael Petell, Craig Cafarelli, Wendy Petell, Jill Lemieux, and Scott Cafarelli. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, 4 siblings, Joan, Robert & Michael Cafarelli and Margaret Gletherow, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Nicholas J. Cafarelli.

SERVICES: Calling Hours for David will be SUNDAY, May 13th from 3-6pm at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Services will be MONDAY, May 14th beginning at the Funeral Home at 11:15am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Noon Time at St. Mark’s Church, with Rev. David Aufiero, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to “The David C. Cafarelli Memorial Fund”, in care of the Funeral Home.
