Debra Lee Roucoulet

Debra Lee Roucoulet, age 69, of Lanesborough, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas, December 25, 2024, at the Baystate Medical Center after a recent illness.
She was born in Pittsfield, a daughter of the late Mary and Louis Cummings. Debi was a 1973 graduate of Taconic High School and attended Berkshire Community College. She worked towards a degree in business and hospitality, as well as her nutrition certificate.  Debi saw great importance in education and instilled that in her children.
She worked hard her entire life and owned Choice Communicators in the mid-1990s. She also worked as a bartender for over 30 years and was a fitness instructor at Curves in the early 2000s.
Debi was a woman of strong faith and enjoyed practicing Catholicism and Christianity. She had a kind soul and a great love of animals and children, especially her grandchildren. Debi loved her cats, Patch, Zubee, Kei-Kei, and her grandcat Bella Rose. She had a connection to nature, especially through flowers and plants. She enjoyed nurturing her house plants and growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and pumpkins. It became a family joke that Debi was planting the vegetables every year just to feed the animals. She would get so frustrated when they would eat her garden. Debi also loved lilacs and especially loved the springtime when they were in bloom.
When her children were little, they all took annual trips to Hampton Beach, and Debi loved the ocean. She was a great mom and loved her children. There were always healthy snacks in the house and a place for her kid's friends to go.
More recently, Debi enjoyed trips to the casino; especially MGM, Foxwoods, and Saratoga, playing games on her phone and laughing along to sitcom shows.
Debi is survived by three daughters, Jessica Lee Roucoulet of Massachusetts, Lindsay M. Roucoulet of Lanesborough and Alexis M. Gardner (Chris) of Adams. She also leaves her grandchildren, Cameron, Madilynn, Addison, Ben, Logan, Ava, and Zach. Her bonus children Arthur F. Stanton of Dalton, Richard Roucoulet (Melanie) of Pittsfield, Amy Lynn Roucoulet (Mark LeClaire) of Worcester, and her brother Louis Cummings (Bonnie) of Pittsfield.
Debi was predeceased by her beloved son, Jeffrey Roucoulet, on September 1, 2024.
SERVICES: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 1, 2025, beginning at 12 pm at St. Charles Church in Pittsfield, MA. In keeping with Debi's love of flowers, all in attendance are encouraged to wear colorful or floral-patterned attire. Folks are also welcome to honor Debi by bringing flowers or having flowers sent to her services.
