Mr. Dennis J. Brown, age 64, of 144 Madison Ave. Pittsfield, MA passed Sunday March 13, 2022 at the Berkshire Medical Center after a chronic  illness.

He was born in Rochester, NY on February 17, 1958, the son of the late Ernest and Mamie Lee Dillard Brown. Dennis was a Christian man who kept his faith close. Known for his deep Barry White voice, some thought it was attractive, some were caught off guard, and even referred to him as "The General," but he was a family oriented gentle giant.

He began his education in Rochester, NY before moving to Bronx, NY.  Dennis later moved  to Hartford, CT where he became a father and he began his professional career. He later became a manger of Wendy’s in CT before making his way to Boston, MA, where he connected with his wife Vanessa. Extending their family with more children before both relocating together eventually settling in 1996 here in the Berkshires.

Once settled Dennis started as a member of a moving company with his dear late friend Louie, commuting to Holyoke and honing his skills as a mover and painter, with his dear friend Quintin. Dennis became employed initially with Manpower, Inc. and later employed with Molari, where he practiced his trades. Dennis was known for his decorating and acute eye for home furnishings Painting and Planting, he’s referred to as the “Male Martha Stewart”, by his children who said that he could even decorate a closet to perfection.

You might’ve saw him at the Home Goods Store or Pier One, and Bath & Beyond, or one of the many local clothing stores, because he loved to dress to impress. Topping it off with a beanie or bucket hat on special occasions, a fresh kangoo of course. Dennis also had many personal talents and hobbies, such as being an avid  fisherman, music, exercising and enjoyed dancing to his favorite ol' Skool Hip hop and r&b. He loved watching his Celtics play basketball and Patriots play football. Dennis also loved to cook and grill, and many would recall he made mean smoked bbq ribs and his famous potato salad, that was requested at every holiday or family function. Among his specialties of cooking was “Fish Fry Fridays.”
Most of all, Dennis loved his role as “Poppa" to his family of children, grandchildren, godchildren, and as well as his extended family of children and grandchildren.
