Tribute

Devon Asim Malik, age 23, of Pittsfield entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 19, 1996, he was a graduate of Taconic High School class of 2014 and shortly after joined the United States Marine Corps in 2015.  Primarily stationed in Okinawa, Japan he was also able to travel to other countries including Syria, South Korea and the Philippines. Asked why he chose the Marines as he always dreamed of going into the military as a child, his reply was “Go big or go home." He participated in most all sports but particularly loved football, biking and snowboarding. Taking his first fearless downhill at age 6, as a teenager he would teach snowboarding lessons at Bousquet Mountain and Jiminy Peak.  Devon’s favorite pastimes were gaming, spending time on his computer and chilling with his friends.

He is survived by his mother Stephanie Wilson, his brother Jahkyse Wilson, his grandparents Rick and Jan Wilson of Palm Coast, Florida and his aunt Corey Riley, her husband Ned and daughter Olivia of Tahoe City, CA.  He also leaves his loving girlfriend London Green, the Malik family, many friends and his Marine brothers and sisters. 

Devon said before his passing “If you remember anything of me after I leave this world remember that I loved even when it was foolish, that I cared even when it was unwanted. When my body is gone remember my heart.”

SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the family for a period of visitation on SATURDAY, February 8th from 12-1:30PM at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will begin at the funeral home at 1:30PM.
