Doris M. (Hall) Fredette

Doris M. (Hall) Fredette, 79, of Pittsfield passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Highview of Northampton Care Center after a long battle with dementia.
Born in North Adams on August 26, 1941, Doris was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Doris (Martin) Hall. She was educated in the local schools and was a 1958 graduate of Drury High School.
Outside of the home, Doris worked many years as a tailor in both Pittsfield and North Adams. She turned her passion of sewing into a profession and loved her work. She was skilled in the art of embroidery and even in the last few years was still creating handkerchiefs for her family and friends. She also loved games, especially Bingo and found joy in puzzles.
Doris married Mr. Paul A. Fredette on October 3, 1959. Together they have spent 61 beautiful years. They have travelled together and lived in Claremont, NC for nearly two decades. Doris was an animal lover and together, she and Paul adopted their rescue cat Buddy nearly three years ago.
In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her daughters, Barbara Green of Pittsfield and Paula (Bob) Malin of North Carolina, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kristin (Matt) Steiner and their children Liam and Liana of Pittsfield, Stacy (Jeff) Jasinski of West Springfield, and Brian and Jessica Topping, both of North Carolina. She also leaves her siblings, Nancy, Joyce, Jeannie, Eugene and Raymond, her sister-in-law, Jackie many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Joan Morandi of North Adams.
Doris was predeceased by her son-in-law, Michael Green, her sisters, Suzie, Carol and Shirley, and her brother, Ronnie.
SERVICES: A celebration in remembrance of Doris will be at a later date held in the summer for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to: "Berkshire Humane Society" in care of the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
