Eileen Pelkey Boraski

Eileen Pelkey Boraski passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the age of 94, in the home she had lived in since 1961.
Born in Montague, MA, she was raised in Dalton, MA by her loving parents Louie & Florence Pelkey. After graduating from Dalton High School, Eileen moved to Boston where she attended Boston University. Upon graduation, she briefly worked in Boston before returning to the Berkshires and taking a job with the law firm of Donna & Donna. Soon thereafter she married Attorney William Boraski and they settled in Pittsfield, MA. Eileen and Bill had three children, Meta, Ted and Amy, and Eileen chose to stay home to raise her family.
Eileen and Bill built a wonderful life together. They enjoyed traveling along the entire east coast and particularly enjoyed spending time at their family home on Cape Cod. They created lifelong friendships with their many neighbors. Eileen focused on raising the children, and particularly enjoyed following her son's baseball games from youth through college. She enjoyed tending to her numerous gardens and caring for their beloved dogs throughout the years.
Eileen was adopted as an infant. Then, at age 88, through DNA testing, Eileen was able to connect with her biological siblings. She was delighted to meet her "new" sisters and brother and to spend time with them in her final years.
Eileen is survived by her children, Meta Quell (David) of West Sand Lake, NY, Ted Boraski (Donna Kaley) of Dalton, and Amy Zaffanella (Carlo) of Lenox, MA. Grandchildren Krissy Esposito (Christopher), Brian Pekala (Chelsea), Rachel Quell (fiancé Jon Carl), Tyler and Cameron Boraski, Alessandra Zaffanella (husband Connor O'Brien) and Christopher Zaffanella (fiancée Megan Pedersen) along with great grandchildren Aiden, Ryder and Gianna Esposito and Tanner and Colton Pekala.
Funeral services will be private for the family. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made payable to "Berkshire Humane Society" and mailed to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
