Ellen Marie (Child) Neff

Ellen Marie Neff, age 62, died Thursday March 23, 2023 at Hillcrest Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation after struggling for over 10 years with dementia. 

Born in Westfield, MA on December 21, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Allan F. Child, Sr. and Beverly Ann (Lubold) Child. As a young girl she and her family lived in New York State and they later moved to Pittsfield. 

She worked for many years for both Royal Cleaners and Stetson. Ellen had the most beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She was so full of life, even in the years as her disease progressed. She brought a smile to the faces of all who knew and loved her. 

She loved to garden, most especially tending to her flower gardens. She was also an avid animal lover and always had many pets around the house. 

Ellen loved country music and enjoyed her many rides with her daughter Amanda, singing along to songs even if she didn’t know the words. 

Her family was so very important to her and she always tried to do the right things by her children. 

She is survived by her children, Benjamin J. Neff, Amanda Phillips (Eric Fox) and Carla M. Neff. She also leaves her grandchildren, Asena "Gigi" Hamureu, Ramon Silverio, and Deahawn Jordan Neff, her siblings, Beverly Provost, Sandy Child, Norma Child and Viola Child, her step-children, Christine and Chuck Fuller and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her brother, Allan F. Child Jr. in 2012 and her partner and soulmate, Patricia Fuller in 2022. 

Services will be private for the family.
