Ellen B. (Budlong) Taxter

Ellen B. Taxter, age 61, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at her home in Pittsfield with her loving daughters by her side.
Born in Springfield on August 26, 1959, Ellen was the daughter of the late Donald B. and Audrey (Struthers) Budlong. She was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and then went on to earn her Associates Degree in nursing from Berkshire Community College.
Known to always put other people first, Ellen was an outstanding nurse. She worked for Berkshire Medical Center, mainly as an IV Therapy nurse. She retired in 2015 but still remained close with a great number of coworkers and friends from her many years at the hospital.
Ellen was a mom of three girls and was proud to have taught them to be strong independent women. She loved to bake and was an outstanding cook and she ensured her girls knew their way around a kitchen. The family trait of a dry sense of humor was shared by each daughter and they all duplicated her infectious laugh. Ellen was always smiling and had a talent to make those around her feel comfortable and happy. She always left visitors with good food as a guest in her home.
She loved dogs, especially her "fourth daughter" Gracie and her grand dogs Chico and Charlie. She found great enjoyment in being outside and more recently started doing craft projects around the house.
Ellen is survived by two daughters, Sarah Taxter (Aaron Lewis) of Safety Harbor, FL and Lauren Taxter of Pittsfield, her brother, Clayton Budlong (Joanne) of Millis, two sisters, Claudia Florczyk (David) of FL, and Pamela Sinopoli Pace (Walter) of OR. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Garrett and Nicholas Budlong, Margo Berkoff, and Stephanie and Christopher Sinopoli. Ellen shared her three daughters with Michael Taxter and she also cared deeply for his children, Noah and Samantha Taxter, whom he shared with Darice Taxter, all of west Stockbridge.
Ellen was predeceased by her daughter Lindsay Ann Taxter on January 28, 2013.
SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with Ellen's family on Saturday, May 1st from 5-6pm at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ellen's memory may be made payable to: "The Berkshire Humane Society" and mailed to the funeral home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
