Mr. Frank N. Foley, Sr., 66, of Pittsfield died Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Hillcrest Commons Nursing and Rehab center after a long illness.
Mr. Foley was born in Pittsfield on June 11, 1952 the son of the late Robert A. Foley, Sr. and Anna Mae (Therrien) Cravish. He was educated in the local schools and attended Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Foley served in the US Army overseas in Thailand for two years. Upon his discharge, he returned home to earn his Associate’s Degree to obtain his LPN license from Mildred Elley.
He began his career at Valley View Nursing Home and worked there for over 15 years. He then spent nearly 10 years at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield. Mr. Foley was an incredible nurse; he was smart and compassionate with his patients and his coworkers adored him.
Besides caring for his patients, Mr. Foley had a love for all animals. The Foley family brought in countless strays over the years, and those animals somehow always ended up being Frank’s pet. He loved classic cars and music from the 1950s, especially Dion. Mr. Foley was also a great cook, and his family will particularly miss his “famous spaghetti sauce” and “cracker chicken.”
Mr. Foley married the former Roberta J. Reagan in Pittsfield on August 27, 1971.This year they would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
Besides his wife, Mr. Foley leaves his son, Frank N. Foley, Jr. of Somers, CT and his daughter, Sonja Kimball and her husband Justin of Adams, his stepchildren, Peter F. Martin, Valarie J. Martin, Tina M. Martin and Roger L. Martin, Jr., his granddaughters Morganne Foley and Sarina Kimball and many other grandchildren and step grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Robert A. Foley, Jr. of AZ, Peter Cravish and Terry Foley of Pittsfield, and Richard Cravish of NV, his former daughter in law, Trista (Bokankowitz) Leach of NC, and Roberta’s aunt and cousin, Jessamine and Sherry Larrow of VT.
Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Charles Cravish.
SERVICES: Visitation will be THURSDAY, February 21st from 11:15am-Noon with a Funeral Service to begin at Noon at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the Foley family asks that memorial donations be made directly to the Funeral Home to help defray service costs.
