Garry Alan Parsley, age 62, of Pittsfield died at Berkshire Medical Center on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Garry owned Garry’s Barber Shop on First Street in Pittsfield for many years. He was a talented barber and loved his trade. Before owning his own shop, Garry worked at the Miracle Mile for many years. In his younger years, Garry served proudly in the US Army National Guard for 6 years.
He loved the Boston Bruins and was a talented cook. He enjoyed cooking for his family and was always up for the challenge of a new recipe.
He is survived by his son, Garry A. Parsley Jr., his mother and step-father, Judy and Charles Irwin, and two brothers, David W. Parsley and Wesley Parsley Jr. He also leaves his many nieces and nephews to include his niece Nicole Parsley who devoted herself to caring for Garry while his illness progressed.
He was predeceased by his father Wesley Parsley Sr. in 2007 and his younger brother Steven James Parsley in 1995.
Services will be private for the family. Burial will be at a later date at Richmond Center Cemetery.
