Gerald "Jerry" Robert Faulkner, age 83, of Pittsfield, MA and formerly of East Hartford, CT, died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Mount Greylock Extended Care.
Jerry was born in Houlton, Maine on February 28, 1939, the youngest of four sons of the late Donald E. Faulkner and Lillian Harris Faulkner. He was a 1958 graduate of Ellsworth High School and then went on to proudly serve in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1962 with the rank of SP4.
He married the former Isabelle A. "Kit" Dufresne at the First Congregational Church in S. Windsor, CT on May 25, 1973.
In addition to his beloved wife Kit, Jerry is survived by his daughters, Renée Opelt and her husband Jonathon of Austin, TX and Robin Burmaster and her husband Charles of Pittsfield, MA, his grandchildren, Kyle Masters, Katelynne Williams and Jacob Williams, his beloved cousin Joseph Richard Roy and his wife Betty of Easthampton, MA, longtime best friend Durward Wakefield of East Hartford, CT and many nieces, nephews and extended members of the Dufresne and Faulkner families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers, Donald, John and Gilbert Faulkner.
Jerry was a man of many talents, especially when it came to fixing things. Jerry worked as a carpenter for an apartment complex in East Hartford, CT for many years. He was a true craftsman and Jack of all trades. He later went on to work for the US Postal Service and retired in 2010.
Jerry loved astronomy and talking to people about the solar system and the universe. In the summer, he enjoyed visiting New Hampshire, attending the New England Fiddle Contest and listening to his "Oldies". He loved old westerns like Shane and was an avid watcher of the Price is Right and Jeopardy. He especially loved ice cream, lobster and beer.
Jerry was a loving father and grandfather, he was there to celebrate many of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
