December 6, 1960 ~ January 8, 2023 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

Glenn Arthur Grossjung, age 62, passed away in Florida on January 8, 2023 after struggling from a number of different health issues. Glenn was born on December 6, 1960 in Long Island New York to his loving parents, William and Arlene (Beck) Grossjung. Glenn graduated from Saint Dominic’s High School with the class of 1979. He then attended Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach Florida where he obtained a bachelors degree. After graduating from college Glenn spent some time living in Arizona where he got married and had his first child. He and his new family then relocated to Pittsfield where he spent the majority of his adult life.
In 2010 Glenn began to struggle with his mental health after going through some personal and financial losses. In 2011 he relocated to Florida with the support of his parents and siblings. Glenn then began to experience physical health issues. In recent years his health declined quickly, taking his life far too soon. Despite the challenges that he faced, Glenn’s family chooses to remember and honor the man that he truly was. They also find comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and that he is finally at peace.
Glenn was a motivated and successful businessman who was a jack of all trades. Throughout his life he ran and owned a number of successful businesses in Pittsfield, which he took much pride in. He also enjoyed purchasing, renting and reselling beach homes in Florida. He was a great cook and could pretty much build or fix anything on his own.
Glenn was always physically active and craved anything that would get his adrenaline pumping. In high school he played hockey for four years and was a senior captain. While living in Pittsfield, he spent much of his time at Berkshire West. He enjoyed spinning, playing racquet ball, tennis and going for mile long rides with his cycling friends. Glenn also raced stock and mini sprint cars at Lebanon Valley Speedway, flew planes, and rode dirt bikes for fun.
Most of all, Glenn’s true joy was being a father. He enjoyed family vacations to amusement parks and to tropical islands where he would be out in the middle of the ocean teaching his kids to snorkel or scuba dive. He loved watching his kids out on the field or on the basketball court. He never missed a game nor did he ever go unnoticed on the sidelines, which is likely where all three of his kids got their competitiveness from. He was also the dad who always made space for their friends, taking whoever he had room for in his truck, whether it was to a motocross track, a school dance or on a road trip to Florida. He was even invited to tag along on vacations to Las Vegas with “the boys.” Glenn truly lived through his children’s happiness throughout their upbringing and those memories will be forever cherished.
Glenn was predeceased by his beloved father, William Grossjung, and is survived by his devoted mother, Arlene (Beck) Grossjung. In addition to his mother, Glenn is survived by his two sons, Chad and Mitchell Grossjung, his daughter, Tyler Peluso, her husband, Christopher, and his two grandchildren, Remi and Brody Peluso.
He is also leaves behind his sister, Wendy Brolly and husband Kevin, his brother Bart Grossjung and wife, Peggy, and his nieces and nephews of Ohio and New York.
