Howard was the second born child and first son of Howard Day Walker, Sr. and Mary Louise (Ryan) Walker. Born on November 18, 1952, Howard was raised in Hamilton Square, NJ. He enjoyed family and social life and was a Boy Scout, Troop 6 of Hamilton Square. He attended St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church in Hamilton Square. Howard’s hobbies and interests were many-domestic coin and stamp collecting, outdoor exploration and family genealogy.

Howard was always a very generous brother, son and friend. Howard attended Mercer County Community College. He became a sergeant in the New Jersey National Guard. He enjoyed operating delivery trucks for local establishments. He moved to the Berkshires in 1990, where the Walker family had settled in in the early 1800s.

Howard is survived by his son, Geoffrey. His siblings include sisters Colleen & Nyna, as well as two brothers John & Christopher. He was predeceased by a loving sister, Cynthia.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Soldier On, 360 Housatonic Street Pittsfield, MA 01201; the event will be announced at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 877 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. In care of the Devanny-Condron Funeral home.
