James Michael Donovan

James Michael "Jim" Donovan, age 74, of Hinsdale, died Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Jim was born in Pittsfield on November 6, 1946, son of the late James E. and Ruth E. (Clark) Donovan. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph's High School. Jim then went on to earn his Associates degree from Berkshire Community College in 1967 and then his Bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1970. He then went on to proudly serve in the US Navy.
Upon his return home, Jim began working for the US Postal Service as a Federal Postal Inspector and Investigator. He loved golf and skiing and was a proud member of the Delta Sigma PI beginning in 1969. He also was a member of the Southeastern MA Detective Association and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.
Jim was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church.
He is survived by his sister, Susan J. Moulton and her husband Donald Moulton Jr. of Lanesborough, his niece Nicole A. Vaughan and her husband Christopher W. Vaughan of Cheshire and his great niece Madison Vaughan.
SERVICES: Friends are invited to join the family at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home on THURSDAY, August 12th beginning at 11AM. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at 1PM. Burial will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the "BMC Cancer Center" with Jim Donovan as the memo and mailed to the funeral home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
