Jason C. Mayhew, age 40, of 5 Bradley’s Crossing Rd. E. Chatham, N.Y., died suddenly Tuesday evening, March 21, 2017.  He was born in Pittsfield, Jan. 22, 1977, the son of Patricia M. Jansen Mayhew and the late Earl E. Mayhew Jr. He began his education at St. Agnes School in Dalton and was a 1996 graduate of Wahconah  Regional High School. Initially a truck driver, he was most recently employed as the Facilities Manager at the Marians of the Immaculate Conception in Stockbridge, a job he truly loved.

Jason enjoyed working on and restoring cars.  He loved nature and the great outdoors, including his hobbies of kayaking, fishing and boating.  Large in stature with an even bigger heart, he loved helping others, loved all animals and was especially fond of his dog, Bobby Ray.  Generous in spirit, he enjoyed participating in all of the family outings.  However, his greatest love and proudest accomplishment was his daughter Gabrielle Mayhew.  In addition to his mother, Patricia J.  Mayhew and her long-time partner, David Hinkell, of Pittsfield, he is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle Mayhew of Pittsfield, his brother, Todd E. Mayhew and his wife, Amy of Pittsfield, his maternal grandparents, Jennie and William Jansen of Pittsfield, his nephew Dylan Ryan Mayhew and his niece, Caitlyn Hailey Mayhew, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be SUNDAY afternoon from 3 to 6. Funeral services will be held MONDAY morning at 9:15 am from the funeral home followed with a liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Charles Church with the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor, officiating. Concelebrating the Liturgy will be the Rev.  Richard Drabik, MIC of the Marians.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, in Jason’s name, in care of the funeral home.
