Joan H. (Hassett) Dooley

PITTSFIELD- Joan H. Dooley, 88, of 37 Euclid Ave. died Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Lee Health Care Facility.
Joan was born August 17, 1929 in Long Branch, NJ the daughter of the late Sarah M. Hassett. She moved to Pittsfield as a young girl.
She was a 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School, and later attended Berkshire Business and Berkshire Community colleges. A secretary, Mrs. Dooley was employed at the General Electric Company for nine years and then with the Pittsfield School Dept. for 15 years. She retired in 1993. She was a former member of the Board of Directors of The Credit Union of the Berkshires, and was a longtime communicant of St. Mark's Church.
Joan had a passion for travelling, and had been all over. She also enjoyed playing cards with her neighbors on Euclid Ave., and she was a terrific baker, having made the Thanksgiving pies for her family for years.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Mr. Joseph M. Dooley. Joe died September 4, 2008. They were married June 13, 1953.
She leaves her three children, Michael J. Dooley and his wife Jo-Anne of Lee, John C. Dooley and his wife Debbie of Albuquerque, NM, and Patricia A. Lindner and her husband Mark of North Adams. She also leaves 9 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tara, Eileen, Amanda, Jessica, Joseph, William, Matthew, and Brian, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held privately for the family.
