Mrs. Joanne S. Steiner Maloney, age 84, of 44 Mohegan St. Pittsfield, died Monday morning at the Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness. She was born in Windsor, VT, June 20, 1934, the daughter of the late Robert and Grace E. Jenks Steiner. She came to Pittsfield as a young girl and attended Pittsfield High School. Primarily a homemaker, she enjoyed her role as a loving wife, mom and a grandmother. Joanne enjoyed tending to her house plants and her flower garden. She was also a life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox.
She and her late husband of 58 years, Thomas J. Maloney, Jr. were married March 27, 1951.
Mrs. Maloney is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Maureen M. Prendergast and her husband Kevin, of Lawrenceville, GA, her two sons, Thomas J. Maloney and his wife, Sandra, of Ft. Myers, FL, and Robert M. Maloney and his wife, Beth of Buckeye, AZ, her brother, Robert Steiner of Cuero, TX, 5 grandchildren, Todd, Tammy, Tracy, Erik and Brian and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family is most grateful to Joanne's friends, Dennis Marauszwski and Gail Adams for the constant and continued support.
SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the family for a graveside service on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 12:30PM in the family lot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, with Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus of St. Charles Church, officiating. Please meet directly at the graveside, which is in the St. Anne de Beaupré section, located in the upper portion of the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pittsfield Fireman's Association, in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, which is honored to be helping the family during this time.
