Tribute

Jodi Anne Poole, age 74, of Berkshiretown passed away at home on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Jodi was born in New York City on June 17, 1949 a daughter of the late Anna and Paul Manata. She was educated in the local schools and went on to work for BMI Records as an executive secretry. BMI represented 12 million songwriter, composers, and publishers and worked on over 18.7 million musical works. In her time with BMI, Jodi worked with Barry Manilo and many other famous musical talents. She loved music of the 60s and 70s and was passionate about the work she did.

Jodi and her late husband Edward Poole moved to the Berkshires and settled into a life in service to others. Jodi was a woman who when her mind was set to something, she went all in.

She was a longtime volunteer with the RSVP group and was a City Hall greeter for many years. She was also an advocate for the homeless population in our community and was an integral part in creating the current shelter at the former St. Joseph’s High School. She also spent countless hours with the local food pantries and also helped to establish grocery drop-off programs in the Berkshires.

Jodi was a devout Catholic and participated in all she could at St. Joseph’s Church. She loved the Cathedral of the Beloved mass on the lawn at the church on Sundays and she adored all of her friends from church; they were truly her family. She was a longtime member of the Seton Family and St. Anne Society, an organization for women was organized to promote the spiritual growth of its members and to provide volunteer service in hospitality for parish functions and for receptions after funerals.

She was a longtime volunteer at the Redfield House on Elizabeth St. and loved working with the children and other volunteers there.

Jodi would do anything to bring a smile to someone’s face and she loved all animals. She had adopted two cats, Lady Mae Rose, who passed away just a few short weeks ago, and Tuxedo, brother and sister cats that Jodi adored.

Even being from New York City, Jodi was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She hated to miss a game and could tell you all the plays, even seasons later.

Jodi will be missed greatly by all who knew her, especially her best friend Judy Miner and husband Brian, as well as the members of St. Joseph’s Church.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Ed, Jodi was predeceased by her sister Marion.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church on Saturday, September 16th at 10AM led by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor. For a full tribute in memory of Jodi, please visit: Devanny-Condron.com
