Jon David Hall, 52, of Northampton passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2021 at his home in Leeds, Massachusetts.

Jon was born in Northampton on January 9, 1969; a son of Joanne (Higgins) Houle, and Leo B. Hall. Following high school graduation, Jon joined the US Army in 1988. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division specializing in paratrooper assault operations. Upon his honorable discharge in 1992, Jon began to pursue his career as a chef, eventually becoming the head chef of the Northampton Brewery where he was heralded for his friendly demeanor, ingenuity, and hard work ethic. Jon’s hard work eventually culminated in obtaining a position as a chef at The Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY, a Michelin starred restaurant.

Jon’s favorite pastime was spending time with his kids, Anthony and Aliyah, hiking, deep sea fishing and spending his time exploring the great outdoors.

Jon is survived by his beloved children, Anthony and Aliyah Hall, and their mother and his former wife, Toby Hall, residents of Southampton. Jon is survived by his brother Mark Hall of New Paltz, NY and his sister, Karen Hall of Easthampton, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 24th at 3 pm at the Agawam Veterans Cemetery in Agawam, Ma..  In lieu of flowers, we respectfully ask that memorial donation checks should be made to Holyoke Community College in care of his family at 3 Elm St. # 1L,  Southampton, Ma. These funds will be used to create a culinary program scholarship in Jon’s memory at Holyoke CC. .
