Jory Robert Nelson

Jory R. Nelson, age 34, of 160 Linden Street, Pittsfield, MA died peacefully, with his family and loved ones by his side at the Berkshire Medical Center following a long illness.

He was born in Pittsfield, MA on September 26, 1987, the son of Jacquelyn M. Furey Nelson and the late Robert W. Nelson, Jr. Educated in the local schools, Jory was awarded in GED in 2012.

A Licensed Electrician since 2014, he began his career with the Bongini Electric Co. and then later established and operated his own electrical firm.

Jory loved to off road on his motor bike as well as snowmobile depending on the seasons. Most of all, he loved playing with his children and going on hikes with them in the State Forest and camping.  He just truly loved being a Dad.

In addition to his mother, Jacquelyn, of Lanesborough, he is survived by his 5 children; Jory R. Nelson, Jr., Jayce Nelson, Addison Nelson and Aubrey Lynn Nelson, all of Pittsfield, and his daughter Willow Poincelot of Pittsfield.   Jory is also survived by his fiance’ Brooke Poincelot and her son, Lucas Gaylord.    Jory also leaves his sister Asianna Tyneesa Nelson Adams and brother-in-law Dennis J. Adams and three nephews, Dennis J. Adams, Jr., Donovan Adams and Damian Adams ; his grandmother Rhonda L. Nelson; his aunts Chris-Ellen Furey, Mary Beth Furey and Sandra Hunter;  his uncles Robert Edward Furey, Richard Nelson, and Raymond Nelson; his cousins Evan Glasener, Ashley Glasener, Joshua Furey, Nicholas Furey, Melissa Hunter, Scott Hunter, Kayla Nelson, Annika Nelson, Jenifer Nelson-LaPorte, Jared Nelson, Jena Nelson, Austin Nelson and Richard Nelson, Jr.  He is also survived by his friends Trish Russo and Melia Hoffman and everyone at 18 degrees.  Jory is predeceased by his grandfather Robert W. Nelson, Sr. and two uncles Randy Nelson and Chad LaRosa. 

Graveside services will be held in the family lot in the Cemetery of the Evergreens in New Lebanon, N.Y. at a time and date to be announced.
