Joseph D Santora

Joseph D. Santora, 88, of Pittsfield, MA., died peacefully on January 7, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Born in Pittsfield, MA on March 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Mary Pupo Santoro. He attended Pittsfield Public Schools. 

Joseph was a Master Carpenter where he worked for many places, retiring in 1998 from Emerson Construction. 

Mr. Santora was a family man, attending all his children and grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He enjoyed fishing, outdoors, and in his earlier years, hunting. He was well known for his vegetable garden, and each year his friends, family, and neighbors would have plenty of vegetables as proof of that!

Joseph married Patricia Ann Gerhardt-Santora on April 16, 1955. She predeceased him on June 8, 2016.

Mr. Santora is survived by his children; Fred W. Santora, Sr. and his wife Donna of Pittsfield, and Bonnie Santora-Brown and her husband Rick of Dalton, three grandchildren; Fred Santora, Jr., Angelo Santora, and Cameron Brown, and his wife Ximena, three great grandchildren; Blake and Jace Santora, and Dominic Brown, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife Patricia, and parents, he is predeceased by his son Joseph Santora, Jr., siblings, Francis and Dominick Santoro, Louise Icardi, and Josephine Finn. 

Joseph's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on the Windemere Unit at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center for the kind and compassionate care they received.

Calling hours will be at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or donations, please perform a random act of kindness in Joe's memory.
