Joshua J Hunter, Sr.

Joshua Joseph Hunter Sr. (Hunter-Marti) of 206 Francis Avenue Pittsfield, MA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021. 

Joshua was born in Pittsfield, MA on November 7, 1988.

He leaves his mother Melissa Hunter of Hancock, MA, his father Randy Marti of Florida and step mother Tracey Marti of Wisconsin, former step-father and father figure Edward Adriance Sr. of Pittsfield,  Maternal Grandmother Sandra Hunter of Pittsfield and Paternal Grandmother Gloria Zink of MA.

Joshua was an amazing father to his 3 children, Joshua Hunter (Marti) Jr. of Hancock, MA , Orion Johnson 11 of Pittsfield, and Rhyett Hunter (Marti) of Hancock, MA. Joshua enjoyed spending time with his children, fishing and hiking in Pittsfield State Forest and spending every minute he could with them; they were his world. 

Joshua has loved cooking since he was a child and was a chef with several local restaurants until his illness. He enjoyed cooking for his family and creating new and delicious meals for everyone to try. He has always had a passion for drawing and most recently purchased a tattoo gun and has done several tattoos for himself, family and friends. He aspired to become a tattoo artist. He was fascinated with reptiles and throughout his life has owned many. He loved the San Francisco 49rs and the Boston Red Sox. He also loved to sing and often times he wrote and sang his own songs. 

He leaves four brothers; Tristyn Hunter-Andrews and Edward Adriance Jr. of Pittsfield and Zach and Alex Marti of Florida, three sisters, Brittany Hunter (Adam Speth) and Noelle Hunter of Pittsfield and Caitlyn Marti of Wisconsin. He also leaves his uncles, Scott Hunter of Pittsfield and Stephen Hunter (Jamie Hunter) of Pennsylvania, an aunt, Candice Curtis of MA and his nephews and nieces whom he loved very much; Briella, Canaan, Gabriel, Elijah and Katarina. 

In his timed on earth Josh had made may friends and was loved by so many. He was an amazing Son, grandson, father, brother and nephew. He is now in the arms of Jesus. We will see you again. We love you. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to help the Hunter family with funeral expenses may be made payable directly to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. Card payments can be made over the phone, or to make a cash or check donation, please call (413)217-0627 to make an appointment to stop into the funeral home. 

SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the Hunter family on FRIDAY, October 1, 2021 at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home beginning at 12:30PM. A Funeral Home Prayer Service led by Pastor Bill Furey will begin at 2:30PM. This service will be livestreamed for anyone unable to attend in person. Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
