Kathleen “Tess” Therese Connolly

Kathleen "Tess" Therese Connolly, beloved by all she met, passed away April 5, 2022 in Pittsfield, MA. Born May 2nd, 1925 in Pittsfield, MA, she was the fourth child of John and Catherine (Baker) Connolly. A graduate of Saint Joseph's High School Class of 1943 and attended Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. From a young age, Ms. Connolly worked for her Father at Connolly Coal Company. Next, she worked at First Agriculture Bank as a teller followed by employment at Boston Mutual Insurance. For the next 23 years she worked at the Lenox District Office of the State Department of Public Works, starting as a Clerk, and working her way up to Personnel Manager and Cost Estimator.
Tess, originally a parishioner of St. Charles Church, joined Sacred Heart Church when her family moved to Elm Street in 1939, remaining a devoted parishioner for the last 83 years.
Tess was a life-long avid sports fan, following the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and all the high school and college sports teams on which her nieces and nephews played.
Besides her parents, Ms. Connolly was predeceased by her sisters Sheila Connolly and Mary Rice, her brothers Francis, John Raymond, and Thomas, and two nephews, John Rice and Michael Connolly. She leaves her nieces and nephews Maureen Connolly, William Connolly (Marcia), Mary Ellen Staley, Bob Rice (Debbie), Mary Pat Anderson, Christopher Connolly (Mary), Kevin Connolly (Roslyn), Tim Connolly (Donna), John Connolly (Debbie), Tom Connolly (Gwen), Kit Connolly Turner (Will), and numerous great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the Connolly family on Monday, April 11, 2022 beginning at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 191 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made payable to "Sacred Heart Church" and mailed to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
