Mr. Kevin J. Brennan, age 73, of Pittsfield died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center.
Kevin was born in Pittsfield on March 23, 1948 a son of the late Robert and Helen Smith Brennan. He was a 1967 graduate of St. John's Prep School in Danvers, MA.
Mr. Brennan worked for GE Ordinance while starting his own painting contracting business. He was the owner and operator of KJ Brennan & Son, a business he started in 1980 and proudly passed on to his son when he retired in 2018.
He was a family man and loved being with his grandchildren. Kevin was a great skier. He worked as an instructor at Bousquet for many years and loved the skiing trips he took with his son and nephews to Utah. He also enjoyed golf and the many vacations he enjoyed over the years with family and friends.
He was an avid college football fan, especially Notre Dame. He also loved the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox's.
Kevin was on the board of the Jimmy Fund Council of Berkshire County for over 15 years. He was so proud to carry on this legacy after his brother Jack's passing.
Kevin married the former Joanne Racicot on October 28, 2002. He and Joanne had been together since 1978.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin P. Brennan (Michele Robillard), his grandchildren, Ashton and Ava Brennan, his brothers and sisters in law, Carol Brennan and Joe (Lynn) Racicot, all of Pittsfield, Rose (Joe) LaPage and Patti (Beau) Harrison, all of South Carolina, Priscilla Brennan of Leominster, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Robert "Bob", John "Jack" Brennan and Mary Jane Magner.
SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the family on MONDAY, January 24, 2022 from 5-7PM at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. The celebration of Kevin's life will continue on TUESDAY morning beginning at 9AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Mark's Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn, Pastor. Entombment will follow in the St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum within St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to "Jimmy Fund Council of Berkshire County" and mailed to the funeral home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
