Lawrence Geller, 70, of Lenox, passed away on March 15, 2021 after an extended illness. Lawrence (Larry) was born in Pittsfield on June 2, 1950, to Esther Cohen Geller and Samuel Courtley Geller. He attended school in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1968. He attended New York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from MIU in Fairfield, Iowa. After returning to the Berkshires following college, Larry taught Transcendental Meditation for many years and worked for his family business, Geller Auto Parts, in Pittsfield. Larry was very interested in learning about the world, especially eastern studies and Asian cooking. He also enjoyed travel to Great Britain and was inspired to open a British importing business, White Horse Hill, in Lenox, with his former wife, Rosemary Cota. Larry’s interest in cooking also led him to study at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He moved to Thailand in 2005 with his second wife, Samniang, where he taught English and resided until 2018.
Larry is survived by his by his first wife Rosemary, of Lenox, and their sons, Eli, of Velarde, NM, and Geordie, of Northampton, Ma. He is also survived by his second wife, Samniang, and their son Sam of Lenox. He also leaves his brother, Bruce Geller, of Santa Fe, NM, and extended family and friends. Larry was predeceased by his parents, his brother Richard, and his son, Colin.
