Leanora Ruth (Sayers) Mole

Leanora Ruth (Sayers) Mole, age 77, of Stephentown, NY passed away peacefully in her daughters arms on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by those who mean the most to her in this world.

Born in Pittsfield, MA on August 12, 1943, she was one of ten children of the late Edward William and Ruth Madeline (Pettibone) Sayers. She was educated in the local schools and worked for many years at Eaton Paper Mill.

Known for her sparkly outfits and flashy sense of style, Mrs. Mole loved jewelry and antiques. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, or DAR as many know it to be, and was also a proud member of the Berkshire Dream Center Church.

A wonderful mom of two, she was an even better grandmother to her 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Leanora married Frank Mole Jr. on February 2, 1961 in Pittsfield. Frank passed away November 5, 2017.

Leanora is survived by her two daughters, Theresa Sprague of Pittsfield and Deborah Lewis and her husband, Ray, of Dalton, her grandchildren, Austin Sprague, Jacob Haynes, Jared Sprague, Mitchell, Samantha and Nicholas Lewis and Alivia Palmer, and her great-grandchildren, Cameron and Brooklynn Lewis, Kileigh Sinopoli, Mason Lewis, Gabriel Sinopoli, Anna Passarelli, Cole Lewis, Isabella Wimpenney, and Mollie and Cain Lewis.

She is also survived by her 9 siblings, Edward William Sayers (Ronnie) of Oklahoma, Dolores Darby (Walter) of N. Carolina, David Sayers (Joyce) of Pittsfield, Patricia Lennon, Janet Leibenow (Francis) all of Stephentown, NY, Linda Lykkebak (Donald) of Orlando, FL, Dawn Whiteley (Al) of Utica, NY, Peter Sayers of Pittsfield, and Robin Sayers Gardner of Becket, MA. Leanora will also be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews as well as other members of the Sayers and Mole families.

In addition to her parents and her husband Frank, Leanora was predeceased by a grandson, Cody Lewis.

Mrs. Mole’s family would like to extend a special thanks to her grandson Austin Sprague and her sister Patricia Lennon for the care they provided to her throughout her illness. They made it possible for her to remain in the comfort of her home, a true gift that can never be repaid.

Services of Mrs. Mole will be held at a later date by the family.
