Lemond E. Grady, age 39, of Pittsfield died unexpectedly and tragically on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Lake County, FL on October 14, 1981, Lemond was a son of Jacqueline (McNealy) Jones. Moving to Pittsfield as a young man with his family, he instantly made friendships that lasted right up until the day he died. Lemond would often joke that he lived the “Thug Life” but everyone who knew him knew he had a heart of gold and was the happiest and most giving person anyone had ever met.
A hard worker, he worked for many years as a laborer for local construction companies. He was talented with woodworking and was the go to person in the family when something needed to be fixed. Lemond loved living in the Berkshires but always missed being in Florida. As someone who loved the ocean, “living with the bears” wasn’t his idea of a good time.
Lemond was raised in a family of strong faith. In the last few years he found his way in the Muslim faith and this brought him great comfort. He was loved by his family and although they will miss him, they know he is being taken care of in the arms of God.
In addition to his mother Jacqueline, Lemond is survived by Michael Williams, the man who raised him, and his three siblings, Abrain Grady Keeler and her husband Edward of Wildwood, FL, Johnny Jones of Orlando, FL and Diamond Caldwell of Pittsfield. A father of three, Lemond is also survived by his uncles, Kenneth and “Butch” Jackson McNealy, his aunts, Eunice, Bonita and Stacey Williams, all of Florida, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
SERVICES: Visitation at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield will be THURSDAY, April 29, 2021 from 4-6PM with a prayer service beginning at 6PM. Burial will take place in Florida at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the funeral home is accepting donations to help Lemond’s family to cover the expenses associated with burial in Florida. Donations may be made over the phone at (413)217-0627 or in person by setting up an appointment.
