Mrs. Lenore A. Menin Horrigan, age 76, of 40 Baldwin Ave. Pittsfield, died early Saturday morning at her home unexpectedly.
Born in Pittsfield on May 9, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Mario "Chick" Menin and Alma Pavoni Menin. Educated in the local schools, Lenore was a 1963 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
In addition to raising her family, Lenore retired from both NE Telephone Company and the Berkshire Gas Company.
Lenore was a tireless volunteer with the St. Joseph's High School Booster Club, Bingo Sunday nights at the High School and with the annual Relay for Life event. Lenore loved to sew, bake and make her famous Christmas Cookies, which family and friends looked forward to every year. She was also an avid reader and loved to play cards. Together with her husband, Tim, they enjoyed traveling throughout the country, including their annual trip to Las Vegas.
She and her husband of nearly 45 years, Timothy F. Horrigan, were married November 5, 1976 at the former Mt. Carmel Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 4 sons, James Bowlby of San Francisco, CA, John Bowlby (Selene) and their daughter, Jaidyn, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Thomas "TJ" Horrigan (Lindsay) of Egremont, MA, and Mark Horrigan (Lisa) of Jupiter, FL. She also leaves her sister, Christine Curtin (Carl) of Tyringham, MA, her niece, Christine Barry (Chris) and her nephew, Larry Curtin (Christine), all of Lee.
Calling hours at St. Agnes Church in Dalton will be FRIDAY, Aug. 27th from 4 to 7 pm. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated SATURDAY morning at 9 am at St. Agnes with the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made payable to either "Relay for Life" or to "Sisters of St. Joseph's", both in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, which is assisting the family in honoring Lenore.
