Leonice (Murano) Quinlan

October 1, 1947 ~ January 25, 2022 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

Leonice Murano Quinlan, age 74, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Pittsfield passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 with her family by her side.
Leonice was born in Cairano, Italy on October 1, 1947 the daughter of the late Gerardo and Michelina Mazzeo Murano. Her family moved to Pittsfield in 1954 when she was only 7 years old. She was educated in the local schools and was a 1966 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Working most of her adult life in accounts payable, Leonice worked for many years at KB Toys. She later went on to work for over 15 years for Berkshire Orthopedics where her coworkers were more like a family to her. Terrific at all she did, Leonice was affectionately referred to as "The Queen" while at work and the friendships she gained there stayed with her even after her recent move to be closer to her family.
Mrs. Quinlan was a strong and quick-witted woman. She loved her family and found great enjoyment in being at home. She also loved to read, especially the works of James Patterson, and she enjoyed the thrill that came from a good mystery novel or tv show.
She and her family took countless trips back to Italy over the years and she was very proud of her Italian heritage.
Leonice married Thomas Patrick Quinlan on April 29, 1972 at the former Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield. They were married for 23 years before his passing on May 8, 1995.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Armstrong (Doug) of Shrewsbury and Brian Quinlan of Webster, her grandchildren, Cameron and Isabella Armstrong of Shrewsbury and her brother Gene Murano and his wife Ursula of California. She also leaves her nephews Krystian and Justin Murano as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends who will all miss her dearly.
