Lisa Margaret (Robillard) Spangler

Lisa Margaret Spangler (née Robillard) died Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield from complications arising from Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Lisa was born on January 22, 1961 at the former Saint Luke’s Hospital in Pittsfield. She graduated from Pittsfield High School and also attended Berkshire Community College and MCLA.

Lisa met her former spouse, David Spangler, in Sicily, Italy at Naval Air Station Sigonella. They started their family in Angola, Indiana, and returned to Pittsfield to raise their two sons. For a time she also was a resident of Gould Farm in Monterey, Massachusetts.

Despite being afflicted with Schizophrenia and MS, Lisa's true nature of happiness, warmth, and compassion was evident to everyone she encountered.

Until her final days, Lisa maintained a long-standing tradition of regular Sunday visits with her family. She also enjoyed shopping, outdoor outings and museum trips with her friend, Melanie Flynn.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Margaret Robillard; her two sons, Nathan (spouse, Ellie and daughter, Penelope) and Jonathan (partner, Shenna Connors); her brother David Robillard and sister Susan Trudeau; her nieces Julie Perkins-Fetzer, Sarah Perkins, and Rebekah Sawyer; and her nephews Christopher Robillard (spouse, Brittany), Jacob Trudeau, and Andrew Trudeau.

Lisa was predeceased by her father, Bernard Robillard, and her sister, Donna Robillard.

Her family would like to thank Lisa’s many devoted caregivers at Mount Greylock ECF for their compassionate care and dedication over the past 18 years.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, June 19th from 5 to 7pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning beginning at the Funeral Home at 9:15am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn, administrator, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lisa’s life.
