Marjorie Lorraine Mannion, age 82, of Pittsfield, died Tuesday morning. Dec. 18th at Hillcrest Commons. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 14, 1936, daughter to William Edward and Margaret Mary Diamond Mannion. Her early schooling was in New York, prior to moving to Pittsfield, where she studied to become a Licensed Practical nurse, serving the Pittsfield community until her retirement. She then volunteered with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Elder Services and at the Colonial Theatre.
Over the years, Marjorie was part of the Berkshire Community College program for housing students from other countries and encouraging their education and community participation. She loved to travel and her vacations included trips to Aruba, the Dominican Republic, England, Germany and her favorite, Ireland.
She is survived by her brother William and his wife Pauline, and her nephew Jonathan. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Mary.There will be a Memorial Service for Marjorie on April 26th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, followed by the burial next to her parents at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marjorie's name to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
