Mary Marge (Stannard) Caryofilles

Mary M. “Marge” Caryofilles, age 82, of Pittsfield died Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Hillcrest Commons after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Marge was born in Great Barrington on July 27, 1938 a daughter of the late Ralph and Sophie Stannard and was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

In addition to raising her kids, Marge worked for over 15 years as a school bus driver for the City of Pittsfield. She loved to cook and found great joy in collecting cookbooks. She also collected owl statues, and at last count had 109.

She loved her family, especially her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She also enjoyed travelling and went all over with her family.

Marge is survived by her husband, Cleante T. “Clem” Caryofilles, whom she married on November 7, 1970, and five children: Debbie, Bobby and Jeffrey Pavin, Kelley Graves and Tommy Caryofilles. She also had 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and leaves her sisters-in-law Alice Niles and Mary Butler.

Calling Hours will be MONDAY SEPT. 28TH at the funeral home from 12 Noon till 2 pm.

Funeral Services will be private for Marge’s family.
