Matthew J. Butler

Mr. Matthew J. Butler, age 34, died in his Pittsfield home on Friday, June 11th. He was born February 16, 1987 to Arthur and Catherine Tanguay Butler. Educated in the local schools, he was a 2005 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Matthew helped serve as a caretaker to his retired parents and especially their beloved family dog, Mickey, a 2 and 1/2 year old golden retriever with whom he shared a close bond.
Matthew was to be registered for fall semester and he was near completion for his Baccalaureate Degree at M.C.L.A. Matthew enjoyed cooking, especially with hot spices, and loved a good craft beer! A man of few words, he excelled with both computers and cellphones and was the IT wizard of the family. He loved traveling to New York City to attend Broadway Shows and eat sushi. He loved how organized the city was and easy to navigate.
He is survived by his parents, Catherine and Arthur, along with his siblings, Martin Butler, of Winthrop, MA, Timothy Butler of Portland, Ore., Cazzie Butler of San Pedro, CA, and his uncle Keith Tanguay of Adams, MA.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Friday from 7- 9pm at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated this SATURDAY morning, June 19th at 9am at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
