Maureen "Mo" Flanagan Beauregard, age 65, of 16 Lanckton Ct. Pittsfield, died Saturday morning at her home following a long illness. She was born in Hartford, CT, July 20, 1955, the daughter of the late John W. and Barbara J. Bassett Flanagan. She came to Pittsfield as a young girl and was educated in the Pittsfield schools. A 1973 graduate of Taconic High School, Maureen went to work initially at the General Electric Co. Ordnance Systems in the welding and soldering dept. Transferring to the former Power Transformers Division, she served as a shop steward also in the Welding and Soldering Dept. there and retired in 1992. Most of her life, Maureen worked two jobs to support her family. Initially part time at Berkshire Communicators, she later became a full time employee there and retired in 2016 with 28 years of service.
A long time communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she loved all of the New England Sports teams including her Red Sox, Pats and the Celtics. Maureen, a great cook, both knitted and crocheted and was an avid enthusiast and supporter of the Mass. Lottery. Most of all, as a single Mom raising two children, she worked very hard throughout her life to give her kids and grandkids everything she could.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer G. Beauregard, who shared their home and her son, Bryan M. Beauregard and his wife, Norah, of Pittsfield, her sister, Patricia K. Wood and her husband Daniel, of Roanoke, VA, her brother, Michael Flanagan and his wife, Jo-Anne of Arnold ,MD and her 5 cherished, beautiful grandchildren, Brittany, Kaylee, Emily, Charlotte and Hudson as well as her many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated this WEDNESDAY afternoon, April 28th at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church in care of the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home.
